COVID 19, Bringing Humanity Together and Potentially Bringing the Best Out of Allied Healthcare
Updated: Apr 13, 2020
Thanks to the rapid sharing of data by scientists around the world, vaccine and drug development for COVID-19 has initiated unprecedentedly faster than ever in human history. In such a short timeframe, more than 150 clinical trials are currently ongoing worldwide to understand the disease and find vaccines and treatments for it. First dosing of vaccine in development was already started this month.
The sense of urgency in public health prompted this rapid movement worldwide as well as strong collaboration from different professions, such as pharmaceutical industry experts, academia, digital professionals, public health organizations and governments, all coming together to combat against the coronavirus. We all have unique roles to play in this, including the general public. Just like a jigsaw puzzle, each piece has a different shape (different role) and fits where it is supposed to fit. Only then it (we) can complete the whole picture. When all of us work together for one genuine purpose - to save the lives of millions - something remarkable happens.
It is indeed a challenging time we are facing right now, but this experience has proven itself that we are stronger united. Helping each other, collaborating with different professions and patients, working together with one simple mission and purpose to fight against the disease - this is truly what the pharmaceutical enterprises are supposed to look like, the real reason for our being.
Stay safe. We will get through this together.
